Universal Weight Tracker

Privacy policy

Effective 9 October 2026

Universal Weight Tracker is an iPhone and Apple Watch app for recording and following your weight, made by Misha Spence (Spence.Studio). The short version: I collect nothing, and your readings stay on your own devices.

What I collect

Nothing. The app has no accounts, no servers of mine, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it contains no third-party code that collects data. I never see your weights or anything else you enter.

What stays on your devices

The weights you record (from a scale or typed in), your goals and your settings, and, if you choose to give them, your name, height, date of birth and sex. They are stored on your iPhone and Apple Watch, which exchange them directly with each other.

Apple Health

If you connect Apple Health, the app reads your weight, height, date of birth and sex, and saves weights (and your height, if you agree) to Health. You choose each permission in iOS and can change it at any time in the Health app. Data from Apple Health is used only inside the app, to show your readings and work out your figures. It is never used for advertising and never sent anywhere by the app.

The app removes or updates only the weights it saved itself. Weights from other apps are never changed or deleted: if you choose not to include them, they are only hidden in this app.

Bluetooth

To capture a weight, the app listens for the broadcast your smart scale sends when you step on it. It does not connect to, record or track any other device.

Sharing

The app shares nothing by itself. If you tap “Share your progress”, the system share sheet opens and you choose who receives the picture. By default the picture shows your change, not your weight.

Crash reports

If you choose in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may pass me crash reports. They describe the crash, never your weights or other health information.

Deleting your data

Leaving out a wrong weigh-in also removes it from Apple Health if the app saved it there, and in Settings → Advanced you can delete left-out weigh-ins for good. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your devices. Data in Apple Health stays there until you remove it in the Health app.

Not medical advice

The app shows calculations and estimates. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat anything. Talk to a health professional about your health.

Children

Universal Weight Tracker is not directed at children under 13, and it collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with its effective date.
